A small tribute to the enchanting young German actress Julia Brendler...

Julia Brendler is 25. She was born in Schwedt in East Germany in 1975. She made her first film 'Verbotene Liebe' while still in her teens. She has since appeared in more than twenty cinema and TV productions. Although famous in her native Germany, she is almost unknown to the English-speaking world. This should change with the release of her most recent movie 'Deeply' a German-Canadian co-production in which she stars with Lynne Redgrave and Kirsten Dunst.

Julia has appeared in other foreign co-productions: Flight of the Albatross made in New Zealand, Moondance in Ireland and Reise in die Nacht filmed in Turkey. Click on the titles at the top of this page to see captures from these movies.

Julia's most recent German film is 'Dolphins' a 40 minute silent short. Julia plays a psychiatric patient who escapes from her asylum into a fantasy sea world where she swims naked with Dolphins. Although Julia doesn't speak in Dolphins she gives a magical performance with her body, face and eyes.
